What does it take to be “successful”?

Recently, I reposted this image on Linkedin.

It is one of my most viewed posts on Linkedin. Maybe because it is a simple idea, but its application is complex.

This concept is so simple that I won’t write about it. Instead, I want to take the idea to the next level: “audacious ambition x infinite chase guaranteed success“.

Let’s break it down.

Audacious ambition: Imagine someone fearless and desires to achieve remarkable and ambitious goals without being constrained by conventional boundaries or obstacles. They are willing to take risks, push boundaries, and challenge the status quo to accomplish something extraordinary. People with audacious ambition are not easily deterred by setbacks; they possess the resilience and determination to overcome obstacles and pursue their dreams. This type of ambition is often associated with individuals who have a strong sense of purpose and a belief in their abilities to significantly impact their chosen field or area of interest.

I want to be one of these people with audacious ambition. Stating that my mission is to “be the person with the most positive impact on the Black Community in Europe” put me in that box. But I got into that box in my late 30s. I am convinced that being Black and my socio-economic slowed down my ambitions. Growing up Black and with “less than” there was a vibe that I could not expect too much from life, that I should be thankful with a little. Could I have built that story in my head? Yes! Were there micro-aggressions every day helping me build that story? Heck yeah!

Today, my work focuses, first and foremost, on mindset. Helping people realise that they can, and even should, have audacious ambitions.

Infinite chase: It describes a never-ending pursuit. This concept can be applied to various scenarios, such as personal relationships, business endeavours, or philosophical ideas.

The concept of an infinite chase highlights that the journey becomes the focus rather than the destination.

Overall, the concept of an infinite chase reminds us of life’s complex and dynamic nature, where some journeys may not have a clear endpoint but can still hold value and significance in their own right.

I for sure want to be in that box. Mindset is again important to enjoy this box. The infinite chase is frustrating if you want to be the best for yourself. I enjoy this box because my objective is bigger than myself. It is about impacting a community. The more people join that chase, the more people in the Black community will be positively impacted. And the more people have a vision similar to mine, the more we will share and progress quickly. And above all, feeling that there will be people still in the chase once I can not be part of it, make it even more worthwhile!

Now, ask yourself. Do you have 1 of these two traits? Do you even have both? What is standing in your way? I can confidently say that it would be your mindset. Nothing can stop you from thinking big and dedicating your life to a greater purpose. Regardless of your ambition or purpose, you will find like-minded people who will lift you up because they are like you or you inspire them.

Still not convinced? Think about your favourite brands. What connects you to it? Let’s take the example of YouTube: “Our mission is to give everyone a voice and show them the world. We believe that everyone deserves to have a voice, and that the world is a better place when we listen, share and build community through our stories.

You see YouTube Auditous ambition in that statement, and also that this chase will never stop! And this is why you are drawn to it without even knowing it.
